Officers of the St. Petersburg seaport customs department have seized four kilos of cocaine
Officers of the St. Petersburg seaport customs department have seized four kilos of cocaine from sailors of a Liberian ship, who tried to smuggle the drug to Russia. Cocaine found during customs inspection of the Baltic Melody motor ship flying the Liberian flag that had arrived from Ecuador, a spokesman for the press centre of Russia's Northwest Customs District told Tass on Monday. “The cubed cocaine was found in one of the sailor's under overclothes,” the spokesman said. The total weight of the confiscated cocaine exceeded four kilos. Police have instituted a criminal case for contraband. Investigators are trying to establish the channels by which seized drugs might be sold in St. Petersburg.
