At the July KPRF congress Gennady Zyuganov is going to claim the post of the party leader again
At the July KPRF congress Gennady Zyuganov is going to claim the post of the party leader again. "I was recommended by many primary and local organisations, I will fulfil their mandate with pleasure and will actively work in our party," the KPRF leader said when answering the question put by RIA Novosti at a press conference in Moscow on Friday. Mr. Zyuganov stressed that the preparation to the congress "is in full swing". At the same time he admitted that during the election party conferences in the regions the KPRF leaders are being criticized. But this is a criticism made by comrades in a healthy party". "The party should become younger," Mr. Zyuganov said. "The Young Communist League will nominate their members to all the KPRF structures, including the Central Committee," he pointed out. "The party will have a modern ideology because we will update our documents proceeding from the imperative of the time and the communists' mandates," Mr. Zyuganov stressed. The KPRF leader sharply criticized chairman of the executive committee of the People's Patriotic Union of Russia Gennady Semigin, who recently announced the creation of a new left-wing political bloc. "Mr. Semigin's ideology is disgustful, it has been condemned by communists and is not supported in primary organisations," Mr. Zyuganov said. He expressed confidence that Mr. Semigin's attempt to buy the party is doomed to failure. (Semigin is a successful businessman, the founder of the Revival Bank and Foundation, former State Duma vice-speaker).
