A group of five Russian children’s doctors from the Moscow research institute of urgent children’s surgery and traumatism as well as from the Research Children’s Health Center, led by Doctor Leonid Roshal, arrived by a flight from Dubai to Pakistan on Thursday at 02.30 local time, which was struck by a strong quake late last week. “We have come to render aid to injured children. I have a team of wonderful specialists. We shall bring our luggage to the hotel and shall go right to the hospital then. We shall inspect children and shall appraise the nature of the coming work. All interviews will be later,” Roshal told Tass. Apart from Russian diplomats, the delegation of Russian medics was welcomed by representatives from the Pakistani Public Health Ministry. Russian doctors will work up to ten days at the Ravalpindi-based medical research institute where children injured by the earthquake, are brought. The medical center treats now around 300 injured children. On Wednesday morning, 42 Russian medics and a mobile hospital were brought to Muzaffarabad, nearly completely flattened by a quake jolt. Two teams of Russian rescuers, numbering 56, are working in the same area.
