The head of Russia's Central Bank said Thursday that inflation would continue to decline in 2005-2006
"Inflation will not grow, but continue its downward trend in 2005 and 2006," Sergei Ignatyev told a news conference. Ignatyev said the planned increase in allocations to the welfare sector would not lead to higher inflation. "I expect inflation to be no higher than 11% this year and not above 8.5% next year, even given extra spending," he said.
