Vladimir Putin praised security agencies Friday for the work they had conducted in the North Caucasus city of Nalchik after militants attacked it
President Vladimir Putin praised security agencies Friday for the work they had conducted in the North Caucasus city of Nalchik after militants attacked it. At a meeting with security chiefs, Putin said law enforcers and the army had worked in an organized, effective, and resolute way. "In the future we will respond in exactly the same way to anyone who takes up arms and threatens the lives and health of our citizens, and the Russian state's territorial integrity," Putin said. "Our actions must respond to the threats to our country coming from the bandits. We will take tough and consistent steps, as we did this time," he said. Putin expressed his regret that such terrorist attacks could still happen in Russia. "It is a great tragedy that we suffer losses among security personnel and peaceful civilians," he said.
