Classes will resume in all kindergartens and educational establishments here on Monday
Classes will resume in all kindergartens and educational establishments here on Monday, a source in the administration of the Kabardino-Balkar capital told Itar-Tass. The classes were suspended over the bandit attack. Meanwhile, the families of 24 killed law enforcers and 12 civilians will get 10,000 roubles each from the city administration fund. Nalchik educational establishments were closed till Monday out of security considerations, though none of them was attacked. Secondary school No 5 next to the second police station and the terror fighting center T happened to be in the dangerous proximity to the place of fighting. These three buildings are located at the crossing of the streets Nogmova and Pacheva. Bandits fired at the terror fighting center T from behind the school fence. Several bandits were trying to break into the building, but the correct actions of the fifth school administration prevented it. “As soon as the shots were heard, the doors were closed in the school. Children were quickly brought to the yard through the backdoor in the three-storey school building and then to the safe place,” head of the department of education and science Svetlana Tkhagapsoyeva told Itar-Tass. According to her, “no children, no teachers were hurt.” At present the Kabardino-Balkar capital has practically got back to the normal life after the terrorist attack. The traffic of city transport was fully resumed. Shops and marketplaces are working. Teams of repairmen mend the window frames in apartment blocks and put in glasses broken by the blasts during the storming of the buildings where law enforcement agencies were housed. Repairmen are in a hurry, as it is cold and rainy in the street, and the night air temperature is falling to 10-12 degrees Centigrade. Three committees of the city administration are assessing the damages inflicted to municipal facilities. Law enforcement agencies are repairing their buildings on their own.
