The Russian trawler Elektron will be convoyed to Murmansk for further inquest
At present, two Norwegian coastal guard ships have been following the Russian trawler into to the Russian territorial waters where Russian border guard ships are waiting for the Russian ship, the FSB public relations department told Tass on Tuesday. When the Russian ship is turned over to the border guards the Russian side will ensure unimpeded transfer of the two Norwegian fisheries inspectors to one of the Norwegian ships. The Russian trawler will be convoyed to Murmansk for further inquest, the FSB Public Relations department said. Norway laid claims on the same Russian trawler for violation of the rules back in March - May, 2005, the FSB source said. The Elektron might reach Murmansk throughout the day Tuesday, but a sea storm reaching seven points halts the advance of the Russian ship, the FSB source said. Press service chief of the Russian Navy Captain First Rank Igor Dygalo told Tass that the Russian Navy did not interfere into the developments involving the Russian trawler Elektron. "The fleet's emergency service has been attentively following the situation. The Russian Navy does not interfere into the developments around the trawler," Dygalo said. "The situation is being settled at the level of the foreign ministries of the two countries," Dygalo said
