Chechnya is opening a first ever television festival of culture of the people of the Russian Federation. Representatives from the Maritime territory, St. Petersburg, the Krasnoyarsk, Sakhalin, Amur, Omsk, Chelyabinsk regions, Bashkortostan and other regions of the Russian Federation have arrived to attend the opening ceremony. Earlier, representatives of Chechnya had visited all these territories in the framework of the Train of Friendship campaign. Chairman of the Chechen government Sergei Abramov said that the festival with many guests from Russia attending is an event of key importance showing that Chechnya seeks to restore and is already reviving fully- fledged contacts with other regions of Russia. The new project is a concrete embodiment of the agreement on cooperation that Chechnya signed with twenty territories of the Russian Federation during the Train of Friendship campaign, Abramov said. On Thursday, Chechen President Alu Alkhanov and government Chairman Sergei Abramov will meet the guests of the festival.
