Russia's GDP growth will exceed 6% in 2005
Russia's GDP growth will exceed 6% in 2005, Russian Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin said Thursday at a video conference for investors. "GDP growth, according to Finance Ministry data, will confidently exceed 6% in 2005," he said. Growth in the next three years will register at between 5.5 and 6.5%, he said, calling the rise a "strong positive tendency." Kudrin also said foreign direct investment in the first nine months of 2005 was up 31% year-on-year, and that by the end of 2005, the ruble's yearly growth against world currencies would exceed 8%.
