President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on the Council in charge of the realization of national programs of priority importance created under the president of the Russian Federation, The decree endorsed the statute of the Council and names of the Council members, the presidential press service said on its website on Monday. Vladimir Putin chairs the Council, Chief of the presidential administration Dmitry Medvedev is First deputy head of the Council, Vice-premier Alexander Zhukov and presidential aide Igor Shuvalov were appointed deputy chairmen of the Council. The Council includes fifty- one experts: Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, Minister for trade and economic development German Gref, Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev, Health Minister Mikhail Zurabov, Education and Science Minister Andrei Fursenko, St. Petersburg Governor Valentina Matviyenko, Kaliningrad regional governor Georgy Boos, Tumen governor Sergei Sobyanin, Chelyabinsk governor Pyotr Sumin, Moscow city mayor Yuri Luzhkov, Rector of St. Petersburg University Lyudmia Verbitskaya, Rector of Moscow Lomonosov University Viktor Sadovnichy, Deputy Duma Speaker Vladimir Zhirinovsky, head of Rodina bloc in the State Duma Dmitry Rogozin, KPRF leader Gennady Zyuganov, Presidential envoy to the Volga Federal District Sergei Kiriyenko, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Yuri Osipov, President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerse Yevgeny Primakov, President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and entrepreneurs Alexander Shokhin. President Putin announced the priority directions in the Council's activities on September 5, including health service, housing construction, education and development of the industrial and agricultural sectors that were proclaimed the four main directions where both financial and administrative resources should be concentrated, Putin said
