The 1st international conference on the theme of "Terrorism and Electronic Media" opens here on Tuesday, with more than 100 media people from 15 countries being invited to attend. Participants in the three-day conference -- chiefs and journalists of Russian and foreign broadcasting companies, officials of diplomatic and special services, the United Nations, UNESCO, and the Europarliament -- are to examine problems connected with the methods of journalists' work in the coverage of terrorist acts and of the conduct of counterterrorist operations. The conference has been organised by the International Academy of Television and Radio, the Federal Agency for the Press and Mass Communications, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, the Krasnodar Territory administration, and the Journalists Union of Russia act as co-organisers of the forum.
