Nalchik schools resumed regular classes Monday
Nalchik schools resumed regular classes Monday, more than two weeks after the Kabardino-Balkary capital was attacked by a group of militants, a local official said Monday. "Today, all 32 schools in the city resumed classes," the official said. Classes in local schools resumed after a ten-day break announced on October 19 due to low student attendance caused by the October 13 attack on the city's administrative buildings. According to official reports, up to 200 militants took part in the attack. During the two days of fighting that ensued, 35 law-enforcement officers, 12 civilians and 91 militants were killed, and 36 attackers captured.
