Residents of a Urals village hit by an outbreak of bird flu will receive compensation after their fowl died
Residents of a Urals village hit by an outbreak of bird flu will receive compensation after their fowl died, a regional agriculture official said Tuesday. The official said 13 ducks and chickens had died in confirmed avian influenza cases. On Monday, the village, in the Chelyabinsk region, was put under quarantine for 30 days. The local authorities are considering culling all domestic birds in the village. This will stop the spread of infection and shorten the quarantine, the official said.
