The Russian Emergency Situations Ministry has sent to Pakistan a transport Mi-26 helicopter for deliveries of humanitarian cargoes coming to the areas hit by the earthquake. The ministry’s spokesman Viktor Beltsov told Itar-Tass on Tuesday that the helicopter landed in Termez, Uzbekistan, earlier in the day. It will fly to Pakistan on Wednesday morning. The craft will be based at an airfield in a suburb of Islamabad and used in deliveries of humanitarian cargoes coming to Pakistan from different countries and organisations to residential areas of the province of Jammu and Kashmir, Beltsov said. The helicopter has two crews of 14. Another Mi-26 helicopter came to Pakistan on Monday with assistance of the UN and financing of Switzerland, also to be used in the management of consequences of the earthquake.
