The Moscow region's government approved a program for the development of Sheremetevo International Airport Tuesday
Minister of Property Relations Alexei Bodunkov said that besides reconstructing old terminals and building new ones, the plans also included arranging a railway express to link Moscow and Sheremetevo-2, with more than $100 million earmarked for the project, to be financed by the government and foreign investment. Sheremetevo airport has been open since the 1980 Olympics in Moscow and has long been the source of complaints of many a travel-weary tourist. The stoic gray and browns of Moscow's famously gloomy airport are in sharp contrast to its counterpart in the opposite end of the city, Domodedovo, whose express train to the center is only one of its more-convenient features
