The leader of the Yabloko Party Grigory Yavlinsky said Tuesday that he supported the establishment of a new national holiday called the Day of National Unity. Russia will dedicate November 4 to the patriotic uprising against the invading Polish-Lithuanian forces in 1612 led by Kuzma Minin and Prince Pozharsky. "We should be glad that Russia is celebrating a civil festival, and not a day of political change," Yavlinsky said. The decision not to celebrate the October 1917 revolution, marked with a public holiday in Russia on November 7 until 2004, is a positive step forward, he said
