The Moscow city Duma approved on Wednesday under the final reading a draft budget for the Russian capital in 2006, the chairman of the Duma budget and finance commission said. Revenues will amount to 504.6 billion roubles (14.3 percent more than last year), while expenditure will make up 561.2 billion roubles (11.3 percent more than in 2004), Igor Antontsev said. He said over 40 percent of expenses are socially oriented. Seventy-seven billion roubles will go to the sphere of education, and another 70 billion roubles will be spent on healthcare and sports. Support for culture, cinematography and media will cost the city budget 18 billion roubles. About 36 billion roubles have been earmarked for the city transport, and another 7.5 billion roubles will be spent on police activities. Moscow has the biggest budget among all Russian regions. It makes up one tenth of the Russian federal budget
