Over 100 patients, who were hospitalized with food poisoning last weekend, have been discharged from Krasnodar region hospitals, the press service of the Russian Ministry for Emergency Situations told Itar-Tass on Thursday. “As of 6 am, Moscow time, on Thursday there were 67 people, including 54 children in clinics for infectious diseases of Krasnodar, Tuapse, Sochi and Adler,” a ministry spokesman said. All in all, hospitals of Sochi, Adler, Krasnodar and Tuapse had 229 food-poisoned patients, including 193 children, he specified. All patients participated in children’s Art World festival held at the Dolphin hotel in the Adler district of Sochi. All of them had their meals in the hotel caf?. Almost half of patients were rushed to hospitals right from the trains taking them back to St. Petersburg or Moscow. On Monday Sochi prosecutors opened criminal proceedings on the subject of food poisoning. The guilty parties may be punished with a large fine or up to two years in custody. Krasnodar Governor Alexander Tkachyov personally supervises the case. He wants the culprits to be put to justice.
