Russia’s Vneshekonombank will support the integration of Russian buses in the economy of Kazakhstan., the bank’s chief Vladimir Dmitriyev said in Astana on Thursday after his meeting with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. They discussed the “integration of the interests of Russian companies and banks in the economy of Kazakhstan”. “I have informed the president of Kazakhstan about our intention to actively support Russian business coming to Kazakhstan. As our banks is build a system of state support of Russia’s industrial exports, we see a big potential on this track,” Dmitriyev said. He called one of cooperation directions the deliveries to Kazakhstan of Russian-made equipment, the implementation of joint projects and attraction of foreign resources in the interests of investment development of Kazakhstan. Dmitriyev said he had cited as key direction of Kazakhstan’s development energy, the transport infrastructure and housing construction. Projects in these fields could be pursued with active assistance from Russian capital and business, he said. Nazarbayev and Dmitriyev agreed that foreign capital could be attracted in these projects. In these terms the formation of a bank union within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation has a big potential. “We are initiators and participant of this union,” Dmitriyev said. Kazakhstan, Russia and China “can implement interesting joint projects in the context of inter-bank cooperation,” he said.
