French rioters spared a truck loaded with perfume named after Vladimir Zhirinovsky
French rioters spared a truck loaded with perfume named after Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the leader of the Russian Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR), considering him "an Iraq defender," the LDPR press service said Friday. The incident occurred three days ago when rioters stopped a truck carrying the new Zhirinovsky perfume for women on its way to Moscow. The truck was accompanied by an unarmed forwarding agent. "Two young people, brandishing submachine guns, dragged out the driver and the agent and ordered them to hand over the freight and money. The victims had no choice but to comply," the press service said in a statement. A rioter opened one of the boxes, read the perfume label, and asked whether the cargo belonged to "Iraq defender Zhirinovsky." Receiving an affirmative answer, "the Arabs loaded the boxes back into the truck and left, wishing Zhirinovsky health and successes in the fight against American imperialism," the statement said. Controversial Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky repeatedly announced he was an ardent opponent of the U.S.-led war in Iraq.
