Sergei Lavrov and Condoleezza Rice have had a meeting here on Wednesday
Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov and US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice have had a meeting here on Wednesday within the framework of the current forum of the Foreign and Trade ministers of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC). Shortly before the meeting with Ms. Rice, Lavrov said he was planning to discuss issues concerning Iran, North Korea, and the Middle East. He pointed out that the meeting would deal with subjects that "are permanently present in our dialogue": bilateral relations and regional conflicts. "Iran, North Korea, and the Middle East will be discussed for sure," the Russian Minister pointed out. Lavrov recalled that Ms. Rice had recently returned home after a tour of the Middle East. Later in the day, Lavrov is to attend a dinner with his Japanese counterpart Nobutaka Machimura.
