The bird flu quarantine imposed on a Urals village earlier this month could be lifted
The bird flu quarantine imposed on a Urals village earlier this month could be lifted, a representative of the local Emergency Situations Ministry said Tuesday. "The bird flu quarantine will be lifted if no more bird flu cases are registered," the spokesman said, adding that random blood samples had been sent to the Chelyabinsk Region's veterinary laboratory. Bird flu in the village was first reported in early November, when more than 250 birds died. A decision will be made on lifting the quarantine on the results of the tests, which are expected on Tuesday, the official added.
