Gazprom must participate in the development of Kovytinskoye gas field
Gazprom must participate in the development of Kovytinskoye gas field (Irkutsk region, Siberia). An independent member of the Gazprom directors' board Boris Fedorov expressed this opinion during the recess in the Economic forum in London. "It is my viewpoint, but not the board of directors'," he specified. Fedorov said that Gazprom must participate in joint projects with oil companies. "They have money while Gazprom has licenses and means. Jointly they will get good results," he added. "That is why I support talks with UKOS, LUKOIL and other oil companies. There must be many projects," said Fedorov. Earlier the chairman of the TNK-VR board of directors Victor Vexelberg said at the Economic forum in London that he was going to come to an agreement about the joint development of the Kovytinskoye gas field with Gazprom. The license for the development of the above-mentioned gas field is owned by the "Rusia Petroleum" company which is the part of the TNK-VR holding.
