German Gref and Alexei Kudrin were elected Wednesday co-chairmen of the Eurasian Economic Community Finance and Economic Policy Council
Russian Trade and Economic Development Minister German Gref and Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin were elected Wednesday co-chairmen of the Eurasian Economic Community Finance and Economic Policy Council. Addressing the Council's opening session, Gref said its main objectives would be to draw up strategy and tactics for Eurasec's development in the economic and financial sphere. Under standing regulations, the Council will be chaired on a rotational basis, meeting at least once every six months. Eurasec was founded in May 2001 by Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan to address a range of economic and trade issues.
