The RAO UES of Russia electricity utility does not plan to initiate the extension of the electric power industry reform time schedule
The RAO UES (Unified Energy Systems) of Russia electricity utility does not plan to initiate the extension of the electric power industry reform time schedule, member of the holding's board of directors Yuri Udaltsov told journalists on Wednesday. “We are not coming out with the initiative to put off the sector’s reorganisation,” the UES of Russia board member said after the Government Hour of questions and answers at the Federation Council upper house of parliament. Touching upon the additional issue of stocks of the Mosenergo power grid of Moscow the necessity of which was stressed on Wednesday by first deputy head of the company Dmitry Vasilyev the RAO UES board member pointed out “it is a correct mechanism.” According to Udaltsov, “At the current stage the sector is in need of non-tariff investments.” “The additional issue is the best source of financing that will not lead to the growth of tariffs and the company’s capitalisation will increase,” said Udaltsov who is also member of the Mosenergo board of directors. The official also stressed, “We are not against Gazprom’s participation in this stock issue, the company is a major stockholder of Mosenergo.” “We have not discussed this problem so far with the natural gas monopoly, but I don’t see any questions on which Gazprom could be against participation in this process,” the RAO UES board member pointed out.
