The bird flu quarantine imposed on a Urals village earlier this month was lifted Thursday, a senior regional veterinary said. Anatoly Peshkov said tests had not found bird flu in the blood of domestic fowl that had died in the village in the Chelyabinsk Region, which borders on Kazakhstan. Twelve birds were first reported to have died on November 3. In all, 148 died and another 98 were culled, but no deaths have been reported recently.
