The Russian Defense Ministry said Tuesday that a PC-12M Topol intercontinental ballistic missile, launched in an exercise from the northern Plesetsk complex, had hit its targets in Russia's Far East. The missile was fired from a mobile complex toward the Kura test range on the Kamchatka Peninsula. The launch took place at 10:44 Moscow time (07:44 GMT). The purpose of the exercise was to test the equipment, as the missile had been commissioned 20 years ago.
