Only in two villages in Russia remain affected by bird flu, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture said Tuesday. "As of November 29, two outbreaks of bird flu remained, one in the [Urals] Kurgan Region and the other one in the [southern] Astrakhan Region," the ministry said referring to the federal veterinary service. As of November 15, bird flu had affected two villages in the Altai Territory (Siberia), a village in the Kurgan Region (the Urals), a village in the Chelyabinsk Region (the Urals), and a village in the Tambov Region, whose regional center is about 300 miles southeast of Moscow.
