Russia offered India to purchase several long-ranger bombers Tu-22 M-3
Russia offered India to purchase several long-ranger bombers Tu-22 M-3, instead of leasing them per intergovernmental package agreement of 2004, Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov stated on Wednesday. "This offer was voiced during the stay in Moscow of Indian Prime Minister Monmahan Singh/, it is a matter of technical difficulties. We've offered India to buy these planes which are not a strategic weapon. India has not yet given an answer, it couldn't possibly do it at such a short notice - just one day," Ivanov noted. It is just a small portion of the whole scope of Russian-Indian military cooperation, the Russian minister added.
