Vladimir Putin called the last 12 months “the year of lost opportunities” in Russian-Ukrainian relations
Russian President Vladimir Putin called the last 12 months “the year of lost opportunities” in Russian-Ukrainian relations. Putin has made a statement at a meeting with Verkhovnaya Rada Speaker Vladimir Litvin in the Kremlin on Wednesday. “Unfortunately Ukrainian politicians do not visit Moscow frequently recently, and we regret about it,” the Russian president emphasized. “In the past years political relations developed vigorously, and this affected economy,” Putin added. “Therefore, the last 12 months can be characterized as the year of lost opportunities,” the president pointed out. Putin noted that Litvin had already met with Russian lawmakers in Moscow. Putin offered the Ukrainian speaker to discuss concrete issues of Russian-Ukrainian cooperation. For his part, Litvin thanked the president for the meeting and “the positive mood” for development and expansion of Russian-Ukrainian cooperation.
