During the Russian Air Force's long distance aviation exercises in the Arctic, cruise missiles were launched. RIA Novosti was informed on Friday at the headquarters of the 37th Air Rangers general command for long distance aviation that two cruise missiles were launched from a TU-95 MS airplane during long distance aviation joint command post exercises in the Far East. The bombings occurred in range of TU-22 MZ planes. "During the exercises, which ended yesterday, the crews of the planes also were tested during flights in the night and during the day above the North Sea and the East Sea. The planes also refueled in the air and interacted with other military weapons," the source said. According to him, Russian Air Force planes - TU-22 MZ, TU-95 ?S, SU-27 and ?-50 - have made more than 30 training flights. The commander of the 37th Air Rangers, Lieutenant General Igor Khorov ordered the exercises, the source said.
