Two people died and another one was injured as a result of rock collapse in a coal mine, Rostov Region, a representative of the regional branch of the Ministry for Emergency Situations told Itar-Tass. “The accident took place on Sunday night in the Krasnosulinsky District, at Mine No. 37, which belongs to the Sulinugol Company. Rock collapsed in a coal face at a depth of 100 metres, when 13 miners were staying there,” he said. As a result of the accident, two people died and one was hospitalised. “Ten people were rescued,” he said. The removal of rock is going on in the coal face. Specialists are working to establish the reasons for the accident. A task group of the prosecutor’s office of the Krasnosulinsky District is analysing the reasons for the rock collapse in Mine No. 37, Deputy Prosecutor of the Krasnosulinsky District Maxim Yudin told Itar-Tass. “After the examination of the scene of the accident and the establishment of all the details, we shall decide whether or not to institute criminal proceedings,” Yudin added. The rock collapse took place in one of the faces of Coal Mine No. 37 at about midnight. The rock covered three miners during the collapse. Other members of the team removed them from under the rock even before the rescue team came. Two of them died, and the third one is now in a hospital.
