An agreement on deliveries of Russian gas to Belarus will be signed in the near future
An agreement on deliveries of Russian gas to Belarus will be signed in the near future. As a source in the Belarussian delegation told Itar-Tass, a corresponding agreement has been reached at a meeting in a narrow format on Monday ahead of an enlarged meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State with the participation of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov and his Belarussian counterpart Sergei Sidorsky. Earlier, Gazprom confirmed its readiness to supply gas to Belarus on the conditions of the 2005 contract. According to this document, Gazprom supplies gas to Belarus at the price of 46.68 dollars for 1,000 cubic metres. The transport tariff of gas through Beltransgaz networks is equal to 0.75 dollar for 1,000 cubic metres and 0.46 dollar - - through the gas pipeline Yamal-Europe belonging to Gazprom. Preliminarily, the sides have already determined that in 2006, Russia would supply Belarus with 21 billion cubic metres of gas (against expected 20.5 billion cubic metres in 2005) and 19.5 million tons of oil (at the level of 2005).
