Russian President Vladimir Putin submitted Tuesday the United Nations Convention against Corruption to the parliament's lower house for ratification. Russia signed the convention in Mexico December 9, 2003. A Russian inter-departmental delegation was actively involved in drafting the convention. The convention reflects the complicated socio-legal nature of corruption and includes a variety of anti-corruption measures.
