A small helicopter crashed in the Kashin district of Tver region
A small helicopter of the Robinson type crashed in the Kashin district of Tver region some 200 kilometers to the north of Moscow Thursday afternoon. The pilot and two women passengers aboard died, said officials at Russia’s Emergency Situations Ministry. The crash occurred at around 15:30 Moscow time near the village of Possady. The helicopter belonged to the Russky Ugol (Russian Coal) company and it fell on the ice of the Medveditsa River during a pleasure tour. Early data indicates the machine fell due to violation of flight instructions by the pilot. During a maneuver, it caught on an electricity transmission line and collapsed to the ground. At the time of reporting, a team of rescuers and technical experts was working on the site of the accident, trying to establish its causes
