Vladimir Zhirinovsky has come out with an offer to install video monitoring systems in offices of all civil servants with an aim to effectively fight against corruption in Russia
Vice-speaker of the State Duma lower house of parliament Vladimir Zhirinovsky has come out with an offer to install video monitoring systems in offices of all civil servants with an aim to effectively fight against corruption in Russia. According to Zhirinovsky, who is also leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDPR), fight against corruption will become one of the major directions of Duma’s activity this year. “We don’t only need to pass laws on fight against corruption, but we also need to establish full control over civil servants,” Zhirnovsky told Rossiya television early on Tuesday. “Video cameras must be installed not only in the underground, but also in the office of every civil servant in order to monitor what he is doing,” the LDPR leader said. “We need strict control over the handling of documents as they are passed from office to office,” he added. “The state machine should be cleared of all involved in corruption,” he emphasized
