Trade between Russia and China hit a new high in 2005, totaling $29.1 billion, an increase of 37.1% from 2004, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said Thursday. According to the ministry's figures, reported by the official Xinhua News Agency, Russia was now in eighth place in the list of China's biggest trade partners, while China was the fourth-largest trade partner of Russia. The ministry said China's investment in Russia had more than doubled in 9M05, year on year, to reach $368 million. Total Chinese investments in Russia total $1.05 billion, as of this month, the ministry said.
