Ninety young architects from Russia will participate in the 9th international Venice Biennale of Architecture "Metamorphoses" from September 2 to November 7, 2004
Ninety young architects from Russia will participate in the 9th international Venice Biennale of Architecture "Metamorphoses" from September 2 to November 7, 2004. The participants were selected as a result of the all-Russia contest "Problems and solutions" in February 2004. They are to present the project "Architectural studio - Russia" at the biennale. Students of architectural universities and architects under 30 took part in the contest. They submitted their electronic works and consultants were to set architectural tasks of any scale. The world's leading architects are to hold a series of seminars for their young Russian colleagues during the Venice Biennale of Architecture. Thus, a super-task will be fulfilled: Russia will not only participate in the biennale but also will be able to upgrade its architecture, said Yevgeny Zyablov, the head of the Russian pavilion. "In addition, it will help to form Russia's new positive image in the world community. We shall show the best we have: young talents and readiness for productive cooperation," he noted.
