The Russian Navy command keeps an eye on the Yalta lighthouse situation
The Russian Navy command keeps an eye on the Yalta lighthouse situation, assistant Navy commander Capt. 1st Class Igor Dygalo said on Tuesday. “Facilities of the hydrographic services are being protected in order to prevent new trespassing attempts,” he said. The main task of the Russian Black Sea Fleet is to provide for the uninterrupted functioning of navigation and hydrographic equipment, Dygalo said. “The Navy command draws public attention to the inadmissibility of actions, which build up tension around the Black Sea Fleet facilities, whose status is legalized in ratified agreements,” he said. “Navy Commander Admiral Vladimir Masorin receives regular reports from the Black Sea Fleet command. The commander thinks that Ukraine will ease the tension in keeping with the documents, which were signed in 1997 and ratified in 1999,” he said.
