About 3,000 residents of the town of Balei in the Chita region where 40-degree frosts have come spent last night without heating in their apartments. A crash in the central water supply system in Balei caused heating supply cuts, the main emergencies department in the Chita region told Itar-Tass. The crash occurred at the pump station that triggered water supply cuts in four town boiler houses, which had to suspend operation. 69 houses with 830 apartments, four kindergartens, two schools and a local house of culture were left without heating. Emergency teams eliminated the crash at 05.30 local time. Heating supply to apartment blocks was resumed.
