Gazprom has increased gas supplies to domestic consumers by 40 percent above the expected amounts to help endure exceptionally harsh frosts this winter
Russia’s gas giant Gazprom has increased gas supplies to domestic consumers by 40 percent above the expected amounts to help endure exceptionally harsh frosts this winter. Supplies to European consumers have been 7 percent above the contractual liabilities, the company said. According to Gazprom’s press-release, senior management met in conference on Wednesday to discuss supplies to Russian and foreign consumers throughout the period of unusually low air temperatures. The conference was told that natural gas supplies to consumers inside and outside Russia were in strict compliance with the concluded contracts ever since the sharp fall in temperatures occurred. Gazprom has harnessed its gas production and transportation potential to the maximum extent. The daily amounts of gas taken from underground gasholders have been record-big ever since the company was founded.
