The Moscow city authorities are ready to render all necessary aid to the Ukrainian city of Alchevsk
The Moscow city authorities are ready to render all necessary aid to the Ukrainian city of Alchevsk, left without central heating and light, said on Tuesday Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov, addressing a meeting of the city government. “If there is an address from the State Duma speaker and the Russian government, we are ready to help and to dispatch humanitarian goods to the Lugansk Region,” Luzhkov emphasized. He instructed head of the Moscow construction complex Vladimir Resin and chief of the municipal social sphere Lyudmila Shvetsova to start immediately work on preparing and dispatching to Alchevsk 40 powerful heat guns, warm clothing and electric heaters. Besides, “we should prepare for possible reception of people from the freezing city,” Luzhkov noted. He reported that the system of power and heat supplies had completely gone out of order in Alchevsk over a breakdown.
