Private Andrei Sychyov, a victim of a notorious incident of army hazing at Chelyabinsk Tank School, has undergone a kidney surgery at Burdenko Military Hospital in Moscow on Wednesday, Chief of the Burdenko Hospital, Major-General Vyachjeslav Klyuzhev, told Tass. Chief hospital urologist, Professor Leonid Shaplygin, assisted by Chief surgeon Mikhail Lysenko, made a surgery on the serviceman, reported as successful, which was aimed at restoring normal kidney functions, Lysenko said. The patient had his left- hand kidney blockaded, and its function was paralyzed. At present, all the mucilage has been removed from the kidney, and its normal function has been restored. Nevertheless, the patient remains in serious, although stable condition, Gen Klyuzhev said. "It is not certain yet what other surgeries and medical procedures will be prescribed to the serviceman because the serviceman’s condition has not been fully diagnosed yet, Klyuzhev said.
