Seven people have been killed in two separate traffic accidents in Kazakhstan
Seven people have been killed in two separate traffic accidents in Kazakhstan, the country's Emergency Situations Ministry said Tuesday. Three people died when their car fell through ice 400 meters off a lake bank in the east of the Central Asian republic, echoing fatalities that have struck other former Soviet countries, including neighboring Russia. The ministry said a Niva, a Russian all-terrain model, plunged through ice on Lake Zaisan near a holiday resort. In a separate incident, four people died and another four were injured when a Mitsubishi collided with a bus in the south of the republic Monday night, the ministry reported. "The driver of the foreign car and his passengers died on the spot, while the bus driver and three passengers were taken to hospital," the ministry said
