China expects Russian-Iranian talks on the Islamic state's nuclear dossier to yield positive results
China expects Russian-Iranian talks on the Islamic state's nuclear dossier to yield positive results, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman said Tuesday. According to Liu Jianchao, China is concerned about the complicated situation surrounding the matter, aggravated after Iran announced the lifting of moratorium on nuclear research, and is calling on the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, to resolve it. Jianchao said the parties involved should remain calm and not take measures that could exacerbate the situation. The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed Tuesday that Iran had requested that talks in Moscow be delayed from February 16 until February 20 due to technical reasons.
