Vladimir Putin has sent a greeting to film and theater actress Tatiana Samoilova on her birthday
The greeting reads as follows, "A whole epoch of the Russian cinema is connected with your name [For the leading role in "Letyat Zhuravli" (The Cranes Are Flying) directed by Kalatozov, she received a Golden Palm at the Cannes Festival in 1958]. You have demonstrated a marvelous gift of impersonating heroines of different characters and temperaments", the president's press service reported on Tuesday. "Films starring Tatiana Samoilova have been included in the gold fund of the world culture and have become the country's calling card. Audience of all generations loves your bright individuality, genuine sincerity and charm," the greeting reads. Also, Vladimir Putin congratulated Leonid Kheifets, director of the Moscow Vladimir Mayakovsky Academic Theater, on his 70th birthday. The greeting reads as follows, "Following the best traditions of the Russian drama, you create magnificent performances that become an event in the theater life". "Your bright and delicate creations are always original. We are glad that you pass on the experience, knowledge and secrets of your profession to your numerous students," the greeting points out.
