Russian skier Alyona Sidko took the bronze in the ladies' cross-country sprint at the Winter Olympics in Turin. Chandra Crawford won the gold for Canada, and Germany's Claudia Kuenzel won the silver. Having successfully passed the qualifiers, three other Russian skiers - Olga Moskalenko-Rocheva, Natalia Matveyeva and Yuliya Chepalova - failed to advance further than the quarterfinals.
