A total of 19 patients out of 33 people, hospitalized as a result of the collapsing of the Basmanny market, continue treatment at Moscow hospitals, Tass learnt on Tuesday at the Emergency Medical Aid Center. The center specified that the patients are treated at the Sklifasovsky research institute of emergency aid as well as several Moscow hospitals. Two of the 33 hospitalized people died of wounds at the Sklifasovsky institute and at municipal hospital No. 36, while 12 people were checked out after treatment. The building of the Basmanny market near the Baumanskaya underground station collapsed on February 23 at 05.50. Apart from the roof, reinforced concrete constructions collapsed. The total area of destruction covered 3,000 square meters. As many as 66 people died as a result of the market destruction. Investigative bodies arrested market director Mark Mishiev. He is charged under Article 109 of the Russian Criminal Code (“inflicting of death over negligence”).
