A fire in the south Siberian town of Barnaul left two men dead
A fire in the south Siberian town of Barnaul left two men dead, local rescuers said Thursday. According to the press service of the Altai Territory's emergency situations department, the victims, found in the basement of a five-story apartment block, were both homeless. "The fire gutted 100 square meters," the press service said, adding that a possible cause was incorrect use of electric appliances. In a separate incident, a three-year-old girl and her two-year-old brother died of smoke inhalation in a fire in a residential village house in the central Siberian Krasnoyarsk Territory. Local police said a short circuit caused thick smoke in the building after the owner went out leaving her son and daughter alone.
