Russia's prime minister said Wednesday the government would approve a plan to combat inflation on April 17. Speaking at a government session, Mikhail Fradkov said a plan to keep inflation within this year's target of 8.5% would involve all ministries. Earlier, conflicting forecasts from the economics and finance ministries had put inflation for 2006 at 9-10%.
